About the Author

Aaron LaPedis is an award-winning author, collector, radio host, and philanthropist based in Denver, Colorado. Aaron is considered one of the world’s great collectors and treasure hunters, and is often called upon by the FBI because of his expertise in various fields. The second edition of his award-winning book, The Garage Sale Millionaire, was recently released in a revised, hardcover edition published by Wiley. Aaron LaPedis is the author of The Garage Sale Millionaire, a personal finance book that teaches readers how to find and sell valuable items from garage sales and other sources. LaPedis has appeared on several media outlets, such as PBS, Discovery Channel, and The Hallmark Channel, to share his expertise and passion for collecting. Aaron created A Boy Named Penguin, a children’s book series inspired by his son Logan, who is on the spectrum of autism. The series aims to raise awareness and acceptance of autism spectrum disorder and celebrate differences. LaPedis has won the Silver Nautilus Award for his books and has been a finalist for the Colorado Authors’ League Award. Aaron is also the founder of Fascination St. Fine Art, a gallery that showcases artwork and sculptures from various artists.

Aaron hosted Collect This!, Public Broadcasting System’s (PBS) seven-year, #1 rated show in Denver, Colorado. His show reached 100,000 viewers every weekend within the state of Colorado as well as 1.5 million national monthly viewers. Aaron successfully taped more than 50 half-hour segments focusing on the diverse world of collecting. Some of the varied topics discussed on the show are coins, wine, art, animation and sports memorabilia. Aaron has become an extremely popular and sought-after public speaker due to his expertise on these subjects. His thoroughly personable and informative style educates his audiences in becoming a successful collector and treasure hunter.

His PBS show is not the only thing that shows off his expert credentials. Network television and radio outlets have interviewed him, and books, newspapers and magazines have featured him. The Discovery Channel produced a half-hour show on LaPedis’ numerous and detailed collections. The show called on his expertise when filming their television special, What’s America Worth, hosted by Donald Trump. Entrepreneur Magazine highlighted Aaron’s success as a master collector and successful entrepreneur. Aaron has also been a columnist for The Denver Post and has written for The Denver Business Journal. He has hosted “The Collectibles Guy,” a weekly four minute segment on the local Denver ABC affiliate, KMGH. Additionally, Aaron was a monthly guest on the top rated radio program Money 101 with Bob McCormick.
